What is the Navigation Specialty?
This scuba diving specialty teaches you how to navigate underwater autonomously using both natural references and a diving compass. Guided by an experienced instructor, you will develop techniques to find your way back to the boat or buoy, even in limited visibility.
Skills you will learn
- How to properly use an underwater compass
- Distance estimation using fin kicks

Practical underwater exercises
During your two training dives, your instructor will guide you through several navigation drills:
