Summary
What is the Open Water Course?
The Open Water certification is the first level of recreational scuba diving. With this certification, you can dive independently up to 18 meters anywhere in the world, for life and at any dive center!
This training lasts 2.5 days and includes 6 dives around Koh Tao’s coral reefs: training dives + exploration dives.
Who Can Join?
Age
From 10 years old (12+ recommended)
Health
Fill out our medical questionnaire or provide a medical certificate
Swimming Ability
You must know how to swim comfortably
Experience
We recommend having done a Try Dive before starting the course
Theory
You will receive a link to read and review the SSI theory beforehand
Duration & Course Structure
Please arrive the day before for administrative and gear preparation (30 minutes).
Theory + Shallow Skills Training
Training Dives (skills 0–6m)
Theory Review + 1 Dive (8–12m)
1 Dive (12–18m) + Final Skills
Final 2 Exploration Dives (up to 18m)
Good to Know
During the course, we will gradually increase the depth and difficulty of exercises to reach up to 18m. All skills must be validated to obtain the certification. We do everything we can to help you succeed!
After validation, you will receive a worldwide-recognized digital SSI certification — Dive anywhere, anytime!
