What Is the Deep Diving Specialty?

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty extends your depth range up to 40 meters. You’ll learn gas planning, depth-related risks, buoyancy control at depth, and safe procedures for deep environments.

The course runs over 2 days and includes theory plus open water dives: 4 dives for Open Water level and 2 dives for Advanced level (requirements apply).

Course Schedule

Key goals: identify depth-related risks, optimize air consumption, master buoyancy, learn planning (gas/time, simulated decompression procedures) and communication.

Day -1 late afternoon
Extended briefing (physiology, narcosis, gas management, ...)
Day 1 – Morning
2 deep dives Planning + objective deep dive (up to 35 m as appropriate)
Day 2 – Morning (only for open water divers)
2 deep dives  + reviews + best-practice safety

How many dives are included?

Open Water divers complete 4 dives. Advanced divers complete 2 dives. Each includes a full briefing and adapted skill practice.

What is the maximum depth?

Up to 35 meters, depending on your level, progression, and sea conditions.

Do I need Nitrox?

Not mandatory, but Nitrox is highly recommended to optimize no-decompression limits. Bundle packs are available.

Is it difficult?

Training is progressive and safety-focused. Your instructor will tailor the course to your pace and comfort.
